When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?"
"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."
Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."
The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?"
He said, "Lord you know all things; you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Feed my sheep."
(John 21:15-17 NIV)
On this morning, the fog begins to disperse. Clarity is slowly appearing in the distance and the warmth of the new sun attempts to caress this broken prodigy. All this from a walk around a pond and a class deemed pointless by all?
To understand : the only goal. The reason is near, I can feel it in the gentle, autumn breeze.
But still I cried:
"Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"
(Matthew 27:46 NIV)
You heard me. You answered. I failed to listen. I didn't want to hear. You are forever by my side, forever watching me; and yet, I won't believe. I want to know.
Please take this broken heart and make it new. All for You.
