We are the Free Birds

I can't deny how not alone we are in the world. Everyone fighting different causes, opposing each other. The world against itself. It's all a war. We may be caught up in it all, but we.are.free. Be excellent at what's good. Be innocent of evil. Be together always. High above them all, soaring. Still wounded from afar, now hit by a bullet at close range. And they call themselves our friends. Place me like a shield before you. Let me take the hits for a while. My love. Your love. Our love is strong enough to keep us flying free. Don't worry about me. I've been tough this long, I can hold out a bit longer. Together. We are free. Birds of a feather, we can't go at it alone.
